Funds raised will:
Support the widows and children of U.S. Navy SEALs killed or injured in combat or training
Assist wounded SEALs where special needs must be met
Provide support to the active duty SEALs, who are away from home answering the call of duty, and their families back home
Competitors who see participating in a Metro Dash race as a way to support the Navy SEAL Foundation are encouraged to make a donation during the registration check-out process.

*Just as Naval Special Warfare adjusts tactics and reorganizes command structure in order to improve the fighting effectiveness of the SEAL Teams, so do the benevolent organizations supporting them. On January 1, 2011, the SEAL-Naval Special Warfare Foundation and the Navy SEAL Warrior Fund combined as one to create a united organization to support the sustained operations of the U.S. Navy SEALs globally. This new organization, the Navy SEAL Foundation, will continue the mission to assist and sustain the Naval Special Warfare community, its combat veterans, and their families by providing support with tragedy assistance, morale events, educational programs and more.
